Director of Hartt Technology Lief Ellis was recently recognized in a review published by thINKingDANCE, a leading publication covering contemporary dance and performance.
In her review of Miki Orihara's The Four Mothers of Miki Orihara, or Learning Dalcroze's 20 Gestures with my Daughter, writer Caedra Scott-Flaherty highlighted the production's artistic elements and noted that "the music, arranged by Lief Ellis, is instrumental and modernist."
The performance, presented at the KinoSaito Art Center in partnership with La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club, explored themes of artistic lineage, memory, mentorship, and modern dance through choreography by former Martha Graham Dance Company principal dancer Miki Orihara.
"I am honored to have contributed to Miki Orihara's creative vision and grateful to see the production recognized in thINKingDANCE" said Ellis.
