The Anatomy Club is excited to host a special research seminar featuring Dr. Jacob DeBlois, Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Rhode Island. Join us on Friday, Sept. 25 from 1 p.m.–2 p.m. in Dana Hall 232.
How does occupational stress affect cardiovascular health? Dr. DeBlois’s research explores how the demands faced by firefighters, law enforcement officers, and military veterans can influence stress, behavior, vascular function, and cardiovascular disease risk. Attendees will learn how researchers use non-invasive techniques—including ultrasound, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, applanation tonometry, and transcranial Doppler—to investigate how stress impacts the cardiovascular system.
This seminar is ideal for students interested in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, neuroscience, cardiovascular health, clinical research, or health-related careers. All are welcome, and no prior research experience is required! See flyer for details.
