Upcoming Online Active Shooter Training for Faculty and Staff

The safety of our students, faculty, staff, guests, and the wider community is our highest priority. As part of our ongoing commitment to campus safety and preparedness, all University employees will soon be required to complete an online training course, Active Shooter: Run, Hide, Fight.

While an active shooter or assailant situation is something we hope none of us will ever encounter, being prepared to respond appropriately in an emergency is an important part of maintaining a safe campus environment. This training is designed to provide employees with practical information they can use if they are ever faced with a potential threat.

The course will cover situational awareness, recognizing warning signs that someone may become violent, assessing an emergency situation, and the Run, Hide, Fight response framework. The goal is to ensure that everyone has a basic understanding of how to respond so they can make informed decisions in an emergency.

Please be on the lookout for a separate email from Vector Solutions with instructions and next steps for accessing the training. The training will take approximately half an hour to complete.

Becoming familiar with these important emergency procedures strengthens our collective ability to protect ourselves and those around us.

Thank you for all you do to help keep our campus community safe.
