The Office of Academic Technology & Digital Innovation is now accepting participants for the first Fall Online Teaching Certification cohort.
This 8-week asynchronous experience is designed for University of Hartford faculty who want to move beyond simply putting materials online and strengthen the overall student experience in their courses.
Faculty will use one of their own courses as the working space while exploring practical, research-informed approaches to online teaching. Topics include learning outcomes and alignment, course organization and navigation, active learning, instructor presence and community, assessment and feedback, academic integrity and AI, accessibility, Universal Design for Learning, and continuous improvement.
The certification is built around the SUNY OSCQR rubric, an openly licensed course-quality framework that supports reflection and continuous improvement. Participants will finish with tangible improvements to their course, reusable tools and resources, a completed OSCQR course review with priority next steps, and a certificate of completion.
