Calling all University of Hartford faculty and staff!
The countdown is officially on: Tuesday, Nov. 10 is global Fix Your Content Day (FYCD)! For 24 hours, institutions around the world will come together to make digital learning content more accessible using Blackboard Ally.
Last year, UHart ranked 45th internationally—and this year, our goal is to beat last year's score and climb higher on the global leaderboard! Let me know if we can count on your fixes to get us there.
How to Get Started in 3 Steps:
-
Go into your course in Blackboard.
-
Navigate to the Details & Actions Pane > select View Course and Institution Tools > open Course Accessibility Report LTI 1.3.
-
Begin making fixes!
FYCD Remediations & Pro-Tips
-
Utilize Ally's Built-In Tools: Try out Ally's newer PDF Quick Fixes, auto-tagging, and the AI Alt Text Assistant for images in PDFs to speed up document fixes.
-
Focus on High-Impact Edits: Adding alternative text to images, formatting document headers, and updating PDFs yield quick accessibility wins.
-
Every Fix Counts: You don't have to remediate everything in one day—pick a shell, tackle a few files, and make a direct impact toward topping last year's score!
If you have questions or need assistance leading up to or during the event, reach out to the Office of Academic Technology & Digital Innovation at actech@hartford.edu.
Let's make Nov. 10 a day to remember!
