This past summer the University issued an interim safety measure that prohibits the storage and charging of electric scooters, electric bicycles, hoverboards, and other lithium-ion-powered personal mobility devices inside residence halls. Lithium-ion batteries pose a fire risk to densely-populated residence halls.
Individuals exempt from this interim safety directive include those persons with documented disabilities that require a mobility device.
