Resources for Success

We offer dedicated resources to make sure you succeed Academically. You’ll thrive in this supportive environment.

Profound Support

At Hillyer College, we respect different learning styles and encourage a multitude of perspectives. That is why we create personalized advising plans for you with the help of full-time faculty.

Through small class sizes, extensive support from academic advisors, and a dedicated study center, you’ll have everything you need to thrive. Hillyer students have the added advantage of dual admission, so you can be in two UHart schools and colleges at the same time. That way, you earn credits toward your major while receiving one-on-one academic support.

Hillyer College has its own dedicated study center and writing center where students have access to peer tutors.

Hillyer Study Center

The Hillyer College Study Center is a quiet study area that includes computers, printing, and peer tutoring. The center is staffed by students who are prepared to tutor and help you.

Location: Hillyer Hall 244

Please note that social distancing rules apply.

Hillyer Writing Lab

If you have questions about grammar or just can’t get started on a paper, free tutoring is available for all Hillyer College students with English faculty members in Hillyer’s Writing Lab located in Hillyer Hall 317.
No matter your skill level, receive help with any stage of the writing process, for any class, from brainstorming a new assignment to editing a final draft. Students can also sign up for a tutoring appointment.

Tutoring is also available online through Blackboard Collaborate in the Blackboard course called Hillyer Writing Lab, located in the Blackboard Student Menu. Use the sign-up link in the Blackboard Hillyer Writing Lab Course.

Other Resources

For courses taught outside of Hillyer College, students have access to tutors through the University of Hartford’s Center for Student Success. Some students may also qualify for assistance through the Office of Access-Ability.
