Teaching Focus

Dr. Ross teaches coursework within the geriatrics, neuroscience, and neuropathology subject areas. Dr. Ross utilizes team and cased based learning within an inclusive classroom and believes in the importance of inspiring students to become master adaptive learners utilizing self-reflection and evidence-based decision making through person-centered care. Her clinical expertise is in the area of physical therapy for adults with neurodegenerative diseases, especially those with cognitive impairment.

Professional Interests Focus

Dr. Ross has practiced primarily in the outpatient neurodegenerative rehabilitation setting. She is an active APTA Geriatrics Cognitive and Mental Health Special Interest Group member assisting in the development of the APTA Geriatrics Cognitive Examination Toolkit and serves on the DementiaEDGE Taskforce. Dr. Ross’ research interests include cognitive impairment in aging adults, utilization of neurocognitive domains to optimize physical therapy intervention, dual task testing and training, balance and fall prevention, person-centered care, and patient and professional advocacy.
