Jason Matthew Malli is a longtime resident of Connecticut and has composed contemporary concert and electroacoustic music for over 40 years. Malli’s music delves into the realms of microtones, poly-temporality, sound masses, extended instruments, analog synthesis, and digital sound while still cultivating his passion for folkloric melodies and the exploration of human narratives as effective vehicles for artistic expression. Accomplishments include works performed at New York City Electroacoustic Music Festivals, SEAMUS 2014 National Conference, Ammerman Center for Arts and Technology’s 15th Biennial Symposium at Connecticut College as an Emerging Artist Recipient, and the inaugural Emerging Composers Concert at Boston Conservatory sponsored by Boston Musica Viva with Musical Director, Richard Pittman.
Past projects include producing and engineering bumper music for ESPN/Disney and serving as an associate producer to create and brand a YouTube Channel for a non-profit wellness organization. Malli has spoken for NAfME’s (National Association for Music Education), and at regional and national conferences for the Connecticut Music Educators Association and TI:ME (Technology Institute for Music Education).
Malli is a Practitioner of Sound and Vibrational Healing, Mindfulness-Rooted Ecotherapy, and Meditation. He teaches Introduction to Humanities at Goodwin University in addition to arts management and music industry courses at The Hartt School and the University of New Haven
Malli’s most recent compositions include Earth {if} 1.0, a set of soundscapes created to accompany the multimedia playlist, Immersive Mindfulness, |2B| Four Impromptu Nocturnes on the SH 101, and dodecaspectra, a new album under his electronic music persona, 13thpartial.
