For the past 20 years, Janelle A. Robinson has enjoyed an ongoing professional career. She has performed in France, Japan and toured the United States. Janelle has been honored with several awards, most recently the CT Critics Circle Award for Best Supporting Actress in a musical for her portrayal of Bloody Mary in South Pacific.  Her Broadway credits include the production of Cameron Mackintosh and Disney's Mary Poppins in which she originated the role of Mrs. Corry; Oklahoma, also produced by Cameron Mackintosh and the revival of Showboat. 1st National Tours of Thoroughly Modern Millie and Showboat.

Off Broadway, productions include Slag Heap at Cherry Lane Theater, and Golden Boy at City Center. Her regional credits include: Papermill Playhouse, North Shore Music Theater, Main State Music Theater, Cleveland Playhouse, St. Louis Repertory Theater, Virginia Opera, Opera Omaha and Connecticut Opera.

Janelle has worked with many illustrious directors and choreographers throughout the years, including Hal Prince, Sir Richard Eyre, Trevor Nunn, Michael Mayer, Susan Stroman, Lynn Taylor-Corbett, Barry Ivan, Vicky Bussert, Dotty Danner, Wayne Cilento, Eric Stern, and David Caddick. Also, she has been active in film and television, appearing in A Little Game (Netflix), a national commercial for Febreze, and on Law and Order: Criminal Intent.  Janelle received a Bachelor of Music from The Hartt School, an Advanced Certificate in Voice from the Juilliard School, and a Master of Music from The Curtis Institute. She has also trained at the School for Film and Television. Janelle feels privileged to have studied under some masterful instructors, including Marlena Malas, Fredric Moses, William Ferro, Sofia Steffan, Bruce Kolb, Dr. Linda Carroll, Craig Carnelia, and Rob Melrose. Her teaching experience includes Juilliard's summer arts program, The Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts. She is currently adjunct faculty at WCSU and The Hartt School.
