Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Fund
Making a Difference Through Giving for the Future
A commitment to diversity is one of the University of Hartford's core values. UHart celebrates the incredible diversity of our campus and our commitment to learn from each other and about each other. An integral part of the UHart experience is in fostering an inclusive living and learning community that embraces students, faculty, and staff of all backgrounds and enables them to achieve success on an engaged campus. Together, we can fulfill our vision of providing an enriching and inclusive experience for our dynamic and vibrant community.
To build upon existing efforts, the University of Hartford aspires to create the following:
- An endowed lecture series
- Scholarships for students
- An innovation fund
- Faculty fellowships
- Staff diversity initiatives
Your gift to the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Fund will support existing and new initiatives, programming, and opportunities to enhance meaningful engagement for students, faculty, and staff.

The UHart community is engaged in an open, ongoing dialogue to affirm its commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion. As part of our mission to prepare students to succeed in a complex, pluralistic world, we welcome all community voices to add their perspectives on how we can ensure that our diverse community remains welcoming to all.
Assistant Professor Kamau Wright's work within CETA and the UHart community includes his dedication to serving as Lead Instructor for STRIDE (Success Team for Readieness Improvement Diversity and Excellence), an endeavor created in 2018 to help enhance retention and success for Black and Latino students across campus.
The Office of Student Engagement and Inclusion believes in assisting the UHart community in creating a culturally diverse and sensitive campus by providing student-centered support programs, cultural events, and tools for personal growth experiences.
