University of Hartford is Now Part of the Connecticut Automatic Admission Program

Students from Connecticut and their families have a new tool to make starting their journey at the University of Hartford easier than ever.

Admitted UHart Student

The University of Hartford is pleased to announce it is now participating in the Connecticut Automatic Admission Program (CAAP), which will allow qualified students to receive automatic admission.

It’s part of a larger initiative aimed at reducing the time and stress of the application process for families. UHart is also expanding automatic admissions to qualified students outside the state.

To participate in the CAAP program, students must be from Connecticut and have a weighted grade point average of 3.0, or an unweighted GPA of 2.75. Qualifying students can receive automatic admission to UHart with a few simple steps:

  • Create or log in to a Common App account
  • Set communication preferences to allow CAAP updates
  • Enter their permanent home address
  • Submit their GPA, weighted or unweighted, along with its scale
If they qualify, students will receive a CAAP admission offer, which they can act on directly through their Common App account.

The CAAP program is aimed at creating a streamlined process to expand access to higher education for eligible Connecticut high school students. Participating institutions waive the application fee, student essays, and recommendation letters under the program.

Certain programs within UHart are not eligible for automatic admission. Click below to learn more about the program requirements
