The event will be held on Thursday, November 5, beginning at 6 p.m. in Wilde Auditorium, followed by a reception in the Stanley Black & Decker Commons. This year’s inductees are Stephen Mulready M’77 and Kristin Wait M’91, whose careers reflect the professional achievement, leadership, and lasting impact of a Barney education.
Mulready is a distinguished insurance and risk management executive with more than four decades of senior leadership and board-level experience. After earning his MBA from Barney in 1977, he built a career spanning executive positions at Aetna Life and Casualty, Orion Specialty, Royal & Sun Alliance, AIX Holdings, and Crum & Forster. Beyond his industry accomplishments, Mulready has maintained a longstanding commitment to UHart, serving as chair of the Barney Board of Visitors, adjunct professor, the school’s first executive-in-residence, and a member of the University’s Board of Regents. He also served as Barney dean before being named interim president of UHart in 2023.
Wait is a consultant in Spencer Stuart’s Financial Services and Technology & Digital Officer practices and serves as market leader for the firm’s East Market. A respected leader in executive search and leadership advisory, she specializes in recruiting board directors, CEOs, and senior technology and operations executives across financial services, fintech, and information services. Before joining Spencer Stuart in 2002, Wait spent 13 years with Korn Ferry and earlier held positions with Marriott Corporation and U.S. Travel Systems. She earned her MBA in international business from Barney and has dedicated her career to helping organizations identify transformational leaders, plan for succession, and build strong leadership teams.
The Barney School’s Alumni Hall of Fame celebrates graduates who have made significant contributions to the business community. By recognizing alumni whose careers demonstrate leadership, professional excellence, and service, the annual event also provides inspiration for current students, faculty, staff, and fellow graduates.
