REVISED: Due to weather, the University will open today at 1:30 p.m. Classes will begin at 2 p.m.. All classes starting at or after 2 p.m. will meet as scheduled. Classes of 90 minutes or less starting before 2 p.m. will not meet in person. Classes longer than 90 minutes that usually start at 2 p.m. will meet at 2 p.m. if 50 or more percent of the scheduled class time remains. WHAT IT ALL MEANS. Online and remote courses are not affected by campus closings and will meet as scheduled. Please note that when a campus closing prevents an in-person class from meeting at its scheduled time, professors may opt to conduct classes or provide assignments online. Ronald Barisano has a professional toolbox of skills that has served him well in a host of positions, many of them focused on community and educational initiatives.

Barisano, a resident of Newark, Delaware, has a Bachelor of Arts (communication-theatre) from the University of Hartford, and continued his training at other institutions with advanced courses in areas that include planned giving, fiscal management, fundraising, and grant writing. He is the founder and owner of a consulting firm called Eagle Consulting for Non-Profits, whose mission is to work with small and medium-sized nonprofit organizations to enhance board development, strategic planning, and fundraising activities.

Barisano also serves as event and sponsor coordinator for the Dover Days Celebration Festival and Parade, one of the largest of its kind in the state of Delaware. With 37 years of service to the Boy Scouts of America, he had roles through the years that included field director, executive director, and development director with Boy Scout councils in multiple states. These include the Essex Council (Essex County, N.J.), Southern New Jersey Council (Millville, N.J.), the Susquehanna Council (Williamsport, Pa.), and the Housatonic Council (Derby, Conn.).

With a philosophy that he was placed on this earth to help other people and to make life a better place to live, work, and play, Barisano is very active in the community and has provided valuable guidance to many organizations. These include Delaware Pride Inc., the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce, the Valley Council of Health and Human Services, and Rotary Clubs of Connecticut and New Jersey. He has also had many articles published in Wealth Creation magazine.

Barisano is a member of the Founder’s Planned Giving Society of the University of Hartford.
