Zach Stewart, (A’20, ‘22), has been accepted into the highly competitive Disney College Program at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Florida, for the fall 2020 semester.
A communication major with an emphasis in advertising and public relations, Zach credits his acceptance into the program to the support system he has built within Hillyer College. “Hillyer provided me with the resources for putting my name out there, and gave me guidance for the best application possible,” he says. He also noted that the support of his Hillyer professors, specifically from Assistant Professor of Communication Rebecca Townsend, gave him the confidence to apply to the internship program.
As part of the internship that begins in August, Zach will work at one of the Disney property hotels in various guest relations roles, including updating the resort website. Zach is working closely with his advisor and UHart’s School of Communication internship coordinator to receive academic credits while he completes the Disney College Program.
Update (July 8, 2020): The Disney College Program has been cancelled due to the pandemic. Zach is planning to reapply to the program next year.
