As a member of the Barney leadership council, she has been given several opportunities to network and grow her leadership skills. Jillian already has a full-time position lined up for herself post-graduation.

Internship

Jillian’s hard work in the classroom granted her the opportunity to intern with CohnReznick of Hartford, CT. There, she landed a position as an audit where she was able to put her accounting knowledge to the test. “It was a rewarding experience to learn so much in such a short period of time… It brings together the material you learn in your classes and gives you that deeper understanding to know how it is needed on the job”.

Barney Events

Finding the perfect job to align with your desired career path is not an easy task. However, Barney makes this task as smooth as possible for students. Jillian explains, “The Barney School offers numerous spotlight events so that students are able to make meaningful connections and build their network to one day find a company where they will fit in for their future career”. As noted by Jillian, these academic and social events are crucial in terms of developing relationships with potential employers.

Post-Graduation

After Jillian graduates with her accounting degree in the Spring of 2023, she plans to enter a graduate program in forensic accounting, with the end goal of taking the CPA exam. Once all of her credits are completed, she will be working with CohnReznick as a full-time associate!
