Ariana Hussain '26's journey at the University of Hartford is a story of ambition, leadership, and a deep commitment to growth, both professionally and personally. As a business analytics and managerial economics major in the Barney School of Business, Ariana found the perfect intersection of her passions: communication, leadership, and analytical thinking. From her first year, she approached every opportunity with intention, eager to expand her skill set and define the impact she hopes to make in the business world.

Inside the classroom, Ariana built a strong foundation in data analysis, problem solving, and strategic thinking. She became known for her ability to not only interpret complex information but also communicate it clearly and effectively—an essential skill in today's data-driven landscape. Through projects, presentations, and collaborations, she developed the confidence to lead discussions and present innovative ideas, often exploring new technologies and tools to enhance her work.

Beyond academics, Ariana immersed herself in leadership and professional development opportunities that shaped her into a well-rounded and confident professional. Through The Women's Advancement Initiative and the Barney Leadership Council, she took on mentorship roles, collaborated with peers, and strengthened her leadership presence. Whether participating in networking events, leadership workshops, or national competitions, Ariana consistently pushed herself outside of her comfort zone, embracing every experience as a chance to grow.

Her hands-on experience extended into the professional world through her internship at the Probate Court, where she gained firsthand insight into legal processes and court operations. There, she sharpened her attention to detail and professionalism while deepening her understanding of how law and business intersect. Observing proceedings and working alongside legal professionals gave her a broader perspective on the systems that serve communities—an experience that further fueled her interest in bridging business and law.

Ariana's time at UHart has also been defined by meaningful connections. From supportive faculty and advisors to inspiring alumni and peers, she built a strong network that encouraged her to think bigger and aim higher. These relationships not only strengthened her confidence but also reinforced her sense of purpose as she prepares for the next chapter.

With plans to pursue her MBA and potentially explore law through the LSAT, she is continuing to build on the momentum she's created, blending her interests in business, leadership, and legal studies.

What truly sets Ariana apart is her attention to the details that define professionalism. From mastering networking etiquette to understanding the nuances of workplace communication, she has embraced lessons that go beyond textbooks—lessons that will serve her throughout her career. Combined with her drive, adaptability, and willingness to advocate for herself and others, she is well prepared for what lies ahead.

As she looks toward the future, Ariana carries with her not only the skills and knowledge gained at UHart but also a strong sense of identity and purpose. Her advice to incoming students reflects that journey: stay open minded, take risks, speak up for yourself, and use college as a time to truly discover who you are.

For Ariana Hussain, graduation is not just a milestone; it's a launchpad for a future defined by leadership, impact, and continuous growth.
