Stephan Anton ’26 has made the most of every opportunity during his time at the University of Hartford. He has built a strong foundation in accounting while also becoming deeply involved in campus life. Stephan was drawn to accounting in high school due to an early interest and natural understanding of many of its concepts. He also understood and appreciated that networking and professional development opportunities could open doors in the business world—which is why the Barney School of Business was an excellent choice for him.
Stephan has embraced both academic and extracurricular involvement at UHart. He credits Barney with helping him sharpen his technical and professional skills while teaching him valuable networking lessons. He has also benefited from strong mentorship from faculty members like Jenna Tang and Harvey Gilmore, who have provided academic guidance and career advice along the way.
During his undergraduate years, Stephan was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, where he served as both fundraising chair and community service chair. He was also involved with the Sports Business Association as SGA Compliance Chair and participated in Collegiate DECA throughout all four years of college. As part of that, he traveled to many conferences and competitions across the country.
Following graduation, Stephan will join RSM US LLP as an assurance intern in the firm’s Hartford office, while also exploring master’s degree opportunities to further advance his career in accounting and business. Through accounting and business-focused coursework, hands-on learning opportunities, and leadership experiences across campus organizations, he has developed the technical knowledge, professionalism, and confidence needed to succeed in the industry.
