Joshua Perron ’26 is an architecture major from Dover, New Hampshire. He is enrolled in the accelerated MArch program in the College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture (CETA). After graduation, his goal is to become an accredited architect and president of an architecture firm. His entrepreneurial and problem-solving skills have shaped his desire to help incoming students leading up to move-in weekend.

Before moving to campus, Joshua struggled with packing for college. There are many lists of “college essentials” on the internet, but he found it unclear of what items would be necessities. After completing his first-year at UHart, Joshua realized he spent too much money and didn’t use most of the items that he had brought.

To help future incoming students, Joshua put his creative skills to the test to create a website called CampusCart. His hope is that students heading off to college for the first time will use the site as a resource to see the items he found “essential” during his first year of college. The CampusCart website is a “simplified college shopping” guide that outlines dorm essentials, classroom supplies, toiletries, accessories, and cleaning products Joshua uses for his residential unit.

His top moving tip is to “put all your clothes on hangers and put it all in a bag—you can go and hang it up and come back down quickly.”

Joshua partnered with Gabriella Treutle ’26, a Hartt vocal performance major, to create an instructional video for CampusCart visitors. In this video, Gabriella walks users through the website in a step-by-step tutorial to find the information they may need.

Joshua believes that his perseverance of putting in time and motivation throughout his projects in CETA make him want to continue building his skills to expand his creativity.

Outside of the classroom, Joshua is a member of the Outdoors Club. One of his favorite programs was the ski trip members of the group took in his first year. Joshua also participated in intramural soccer and is hoping to play again this year.

As a participant in the Amazon Affiliate program, Joshua earns a small referral fee from each purchase made on CampusCart. His earnings go back into his college fund.
