#UHartInspires: Three Much-Needed Ventilators Loaned to Hartford Hospital

April 28, 2020
Submitted By: Mildred McNeill

Ventilators are crucial to treating critically ill patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. In early April, UHart answered the call for ventilators to address concerns from Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont and state health officials that the number of ventilators in the state would not be enough to handle a dramatic surge in coronavirus cases.

Three ventilators, that are typically housed in labs in ENHP where students in the respiratory care program train to become respiratory therapists, are now on loan to Hartford Hospital.

Read more about why ventilators and respiratory therapists are critical to the fight against COVID-19 here.

Thank you ENHP and your respiratory therapy alumni and students for all you are doing to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

"UHartInspires" is an opportunity for University faculty, staff, students, and alumni to share how they are taking care of themselves and their families or helping and supporting others during the COVID-19 pandemic.
