Catalysts for Innovation, the third annual F.I.R.M. event presented by the Barney School of Business, is going virtual this year. All are welcome to join us on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020, at 7 p.m. as we present the Executive Leadership of the Year Award to Christopher J. Swift, chairman and CEO, The Hartford. The event is free to all UHart students, faculty and stuff. Register now!

The event will be hosted by Jerry Franklin, retired president and CEO, CPTV; with special performances by Under the Street Lamp and Javier Colon ’00. Proceeds from the event will benefit scholarships, career development, and programming at the Barney School of Business.

This year, more than ever, it is critically important to raise scholarship funds for students at the Barney School of Business. Your support helps students succeed by making their education—and the opportunities that come with it—accessible. With more than 90 percent of our students currently receiving aid, and with additional hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our students need this support if they are to complete their education and enter the workforce both in our community and nationally.

The F.I.R.M. Executive Leadership Award honors and celebrates an industry leader who has made significant contributions in the finance, insurance, risk management, and manufacturing sectors. The inaugural F.I.R.M. event in 2019 raised over $500,000 in proceeds that will provide over a dozen students with annual partial scholarships, and create numerous career-development and leadership programs for Barney School students.

*This event is free to UHart community members.
