New Integrated Facilities Management Partnership
President Gregory Woodward shared the following message with the University community on March 10.
Dear UHart Community,
As a part of our continued focus on enhancing the student experience on campus, I am pleased to announce we have entered into a new relationship with our partners at Aramark. On or about May 3, 2021, Aramark will lead our Integrated Facilities Management efforts. This partnership builds upon our own campus resources, bringing an efficiency in operations and management benefits to the University. Aramark’s professional oversight will include facilities management and grounds, custodial, housekeeping, and related services at the University of Hartford.
Aramark has consistently provided exceptional service in our on-campus dining operations and conference services for more than 35 years. A Fortune 200 company, they are a global leader in food and facility services, managing operations across industries with recognition for service excellence and customer satisfaction. Throughout the pandemic, they have also gone above and beyond to assist our students with delivery services, dining, laundry, and facility management in isolation and quarantine housing.
We continue to be impressed with their continued commitment to hiring and training a diverse workforce, while providing high-quality and consistent employee development opportunities. Aramark has matched existing compensation for UHart facilities team members, and offered a strong, comparable benefits package that includes the recognition of seniority status and the continuation of tuition remission. These employees will join the 150 Aramark team members that already work on the University of Hartford campus.
As a company, Aramark values the role their services play in enriching and nourishing people’s daily lives and experiences. In expanding our partnership, Aramark has committed to making significant investments in our campus and community, including $300,000 to support our diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts on campus over the next three years. Beyond buildings and grounds, their further investment in our future together will continue to enhance inclusive opportunities and experiences for UHart students, faculty, and staff, and the larger campus community.
Please join me in thanking our entire facilities team for all they bring to our campus community. We look forward to welcoming more of the Aramark team to campus and showing our support for their forward-thinking approach to dining, facilities management, and conferences services on campus.
Sincerely,
Gregory S. Woodward
President
