Hartt Orchestra Concert April 24
For the first time in over a year, the Hartt Orchestra is a full orchestra again!
The ensemble will perform strings works by Elgar and Händel, and overtures by Beethoven, Mozart and Mendelssohn. The concert will be conducted by Edward Cumming and Hartt conducting students: Michael Carney, James Minnix, Ziwei Ma and Christopher Ramos. The program will also feature a symphony by the first great Black violinist/composer, Joseph Bologne, for whom Haydn wrote his Paris symphonies, one of which will also be featured. In addition, there will be an overture by the unjustly neglected Polish composer, Grazyna Bacewicz, which she wrote during the Second World War.
The concert will be livestreamed from Lincoln Theater on Saturday April 24 at 7:30 p.m.
