Annual Summer Electrical Shutdown Notification

The University will be shutting off all electricity to the campus on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021. This is required annually to allow for extensive maintenance on the major electrical system components.

The work will begin at 6 a.m. and all service should be back to normal by noon on the same day.

Anyone who requires electrical service during that time period should immediately communicate their needs and reasons for power supply to the Facilities Department at x7925.

Please Note the annual shutdown for the next two years is as follow:

Sunday Aug. 7, 2022: 6 a.m. – noon
Sunday Aug. 6, 2023: 6 a.m. – noon

In order to minimize any damage to your computers or electronic devices, please turn them off before the power is scheduled to be off.

Buildings not affected:

Bates House
HPAC (Handel Performing Arts Center)
AAC (Asylum Avenue Campus)
