Welcome new Residential Life Staff

Please join me in welcoming two new Assistant Directors (ADs) to the Office of Residential Life team. These AD positions are responsible for the community development, student engagement and learning, and management of our residential communities.  John "Jack" Bushell is working with our first-year students and supervising the Resident Directors who oversee Hawk Hall and Neighborhoods A, B, C and F. Andrea Lafleche is working with our returning and graduate students and supervising the Resident Directors who oversee Park River, Regents Park, and the Village Apartments.  

Jack has a MA in Secondary Education from Sacred Heart University and a MS in Student Development in Higher Education from Central Connecticut State University. He has worked in Residential Life at  Central Connecticut State University as the Assistant to the Director and as a Resident Director, and Sacred Heart University as a Residence Hall Director and the Facilities and Operations Manager.  

Jack moved to Southern Connecticut from New York City in grade school and earned his BA in History at Sacred Heart University.  He loves sports - both playing and watching - his favorite being basketball. Jack is a huge New York Knicks basketball and Chicago Cubs baseball fan. He enjoys trying new foods, visiting new places, and playing board games with friends and family. Jack lives on campus in the Village Apartments, Quad 2. Jack's Office is located in the Office of Residential Life (lower-level of Barnard). Andrea earned a MS in Higher Education from Florida State University. She has worked at the University of Texas, El Paso (Deputy Title IX Coordinator; Coordinator and Assistant Director, Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution), American International College (Assistant Director of Housing Operations), and the University of Massachusetts, Lowell (Resident Director and Complex Director).  

While Andrea misses the the South's amazing Mexican food and being able to visit White Sands National Park whenever she pleased, she is "wicked excited" to be back living in New England. Originally from Massachusetts, she has a BA from the University of Connecticut. When not working with college students you will find Andrea at the gym, watching sports, or searching for an amazing deal at a local thrift store.  Andrea lives on campus in the Village Apartments, Quad 1.
