Electrical Service Interruptions on Campus Nov. 22 and 23

November 05, 2021
Submitted By: Chris Dupuis

Two separate electrical shutdowns will take place on campus during Thanksgiving week.

Electricity will be shut off in A Complex, B complex, and the Commons on Monday, Nov. 22, for the replacement of a major electrical system component.

The work will begin at 6 a.m. and all service should be back to normal by 6 p.m. that evening. Anyone requiring electrical service during the hours of interruption should immediately communicate their needs and reasons for power supply to the Facilities Department at 860.768.7925.

To minimize any damage to your computers or electronic devices, please turn them off prior to leaving for Thanksgiving Break.

Additionally, as we continue to upgrade critical campus infrastructure, an electrical service interruption will affect the following buildings on the academic side of campus on Tuesday, Nov. 23, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Taub Hall (HAS)
  • Sculpture/Ceramics/Glass Blowing Buildings (HAS)
  • Dana Hall and Bio-Chem Building (D, BC)
  • United Technologies Hall (UT)

Electrical service will be restored to each building by 5 p.m. Tuesday evening. No other campus buildings, including residence halls, will be affected by this electrical service shutdown.

This shutdown will affect the ability to use the remote desktop feature during the 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. shutdown window.

Please contact Chris Dupuis in Facilities at cdupuis@hartford.edu should you have any questions or concerns regarding the electrical service interruption.
