Spread across seven dynamic schools and colleges, UHart is a four-year private nonprofit university that has been guiding the purpose and passion of undergraduate and graduate students for over six decades. Centrally located alongside Connecticut’s capital city and midway between Boston and New York City, our 350-acre campus offers big opportunities, from major industry partnerships to vibrant cultural destinations.
With more than 100 undergraduate programs and 64 graduate programs across seven schools and colleges, you can expect to interact with colleagues, professionals, and faculty across a diverse range of thought and profession.
At UHart, you will be joining a dynamic community with diverse backgrounds, interests and perspectives. Beyond just landing a job after graduation, we empower you to rise quickly in your field.
We're a diverse campus and a community of varied interests, talents, and worldviews. With more than 100 student clubs and organizations, 17 Division I sports teams, and a support system to help you succeed, you can dabble, experiment, and broaden your passions at UHart.
Gamma Iota Sigma, GIS, is open to all majors and fields of study across the university with a focus on insurance, risk management, and actuarial sciences. We host spotlight events with different insurance companies that allows for networking opportunities. Membership in GIS also allows for scholarship opportunities that can go towards university tuition. The following is the official link to the GIS website if you are interested in learning more about the organization: https://www.gammaiotasigma.org/ If you have any questions or are interested in joining, please reach out to our chapter's Membership Chair, Clea Stiscia at stiscia@hartford.edu.
