During 2021, as part of partnership work in the undergraduate Montessori Studies programs at the University of Hartford, the Center for Montessori Studies began an ideas and information exchange in pursuit of intentional, equity-based grading. In 2022, the Center will continue with a new series of Montessori Higher Education Exchange gatherings focused on Equity-Based Grading.

While we will draw on the significant contributions from luminaries Zaretta Hammond and Christopher Emdin, we will ground our gatherings in selected text from Joe Feldman's Grading for Equity: What It Is, Why It Matters, and How It Can Transform Schools and Classrooms as it grounds us in the application of these ideas for the 3rd and 4th plane learners.

To join the Montessori Higher Education Exchange discussion, or for more information, contact Dr. Paige M. Bray, Director of the Center for Montessori Studies, at bray@hartford.edu.
