Meagan Fazio Accepts New Opportunity

Meagan Fazio, director of strategic communication in the office of marketing communication, has accepted a new position as a senior writer and editor with the UConn Foundation. This is bittersweet because Meagan has been a valued member of the OMC team for close to fourteen years. In that time she has helped to lead the office through a number of transitions and managed countless issues—big and small—for the University overall. She has been an instrumental partner and teammate to many across campus. She has helped us share UHart’s highest highs, like welcoming President Barack Obama, hyping March Madness, and covering inspiring projects like the eclipse with our faculty and community spring break trips with our students. Meagan has also been a trusted resource and colleague in our most challenging moments, like the heartbreaking loss of a student and the management of a global pandemic. There will also be a few very disappointed trivia teams in the mix as Meagan regularly put others to shame with her vast knowledge of random facts! She is always among the first to volunteer and can often be found court-side cheering on our Hawks.

Meagan is excited about a new challenge and opportunity that will still allow her to work on mission-driven communications in support of higher education, telling the meaningful stories of inspiring people and topics she is passionate about. Please join me in congratulating her on this deserved next step in her career. Her last day will be Friday, Feb. 11.
