Howie's Helpers

Howie’s Helpers is a short-term University of Hartford service opportunity where returning students help incoming first-year students move into their residential spaces. Howie’s Helpers work as a team and rely on one another in order to achieve our common goal of creating a welcoming environment for our new students and their families. Howie’s Helpers volunteers move in early, receive a program t-shirt and meals until the fall meal plan begins

Recognized student organizations through the Office of Student Engagement and Inclusion (OSEI)  have the unique opportunity to be entered into a drawing to win $750 for their organization!

• How does it work?
  • Complete the Howie's Helper Volunteer Application and indicate your student organization affiliation.
  • Required move in date for Howie's Helper Volunteers is Thursday August 16th, 2022

• Daily at Howie Helpers morning check-in, members of your organization will be entered into a drawing
  • More organization members participating = more drawing entries, which increases your organization’s chances to win $$$
• Drawing Guidelines
  • 4 drawings
  • Winning Orgs earning $750.00 each (to be applied to organization’s university account) (WOW, imagine the impact this could have on your student organization)
  • No double dipping…You can only represent one student organization
