Professor Nels Highberg Publishes in Catapult

English and Modern Languages Professor Nels P. Highberg’s essay, “It’s More Than Just ‘Two Boys Kissing’” was published May 2 in the Arts & Culture/Queer Life section of Catapult. The essay is a braided meditation about the “chaos of living as a gay man in the 1980s and 1990s” and David Wojnarowicz’s painting “Fuck You Faggot Fucker.”

Catapult publishes literary, award-winning fiction and narrative nonfiction through its online magazine. Essays and stories published in the magazine have also been awarded the Pushcart Prize, shortlisted for the Caine Prize for African Writing, nominated for a James Beard Foundation Journalism Award, and featured in The Best American Essays and other Best American anthologies.
