Reminder: Flexible Work Schedules and Remote Work

University leadership recognizes that flexible work schedules and the ability to work remotely provides flexibility for employees. We know, and have heard, that there are many external pressures facing our employees right now, and it may be a good time to explore a Flexible/Remote Work Schedule.

Any University of Hartford staff member who wishes to explore an opportunity to create a flexible work schedule or work remotely should inquire about establishing an arrangement with their supervisor, dean, or department head. Flexible Work Schedule Forms must be completed via PeopleAdmin*. 

HRD cannot implement flexible or standard schedules for employees. This must be a discussion with each employee’s supervisor to evaluate the viability of a flexible schedule, as this may not work for every department. 

If you are approved for a flexible/remote work schedule, it must be reviewed by the staff member, supervisor, and HRD every 6 months. This review ensures that business needs are being met, that the arrangement continues to comply with the policy, and that it aligns with the Flexible Work Schedule process. *As a reminder, log into PeopleAdmin to access HRD Forms:  https://hartford.peopleadmin.com/hr/sessions/new

  • Log in using your email address without the “@hartford.edu” (password is your ID number)
  • Click on the ellipse (...) in the top left corner and select employee records.
  • Click on "Available Forms" on the left side of the screen.
  • Click on the appropriate form.
  • Complete the form and submit.
