Hillyer's Joyce Ashuntantang Performs Poetry Reading in Florida

Hillyer College Professor of English Joyce Ashuntantang did a poetry reading titled, "When Life Gives You Lemons, Enjoy Poetry" for The Ivory Club of Tampa Bay on Saturday, June 11. Ashuntantang is an award-winning poet who teaches English and African literature. She was invited by the nonprofit organization to present a talk and poetry reading from diverse Black poets, on how poetry can heal during challenging times. The Ivory Club of Tampa Bay is an organization  composed of African professionals who are committed to promoting education and family values.
