Hartt Steals the Spotlight in Cape Cod

If you felt like Cape Cod was a small extension of The Hartt School this summer, no one would blame you. The Cape Cod Shakespeare Festival in Chatham features seven Hartt alumni and four current Hartt students, and has also been supported by Hartt’s costume manager, sound technician, and production manager. Meanwhile, its artistic director was the longtime division director of Hartt Theatre, and a current UHart professor is directing “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the festival at the end of July and early August. Additionally, a co-creator of the festival has guest-directed at Hartt.

The company is also performing “Twelfth Night.” Both shows are set for the Whit Tileston Bandstand in Kate Gould Park.

The festival, as well as some of the group’s Hartt history, was recently featured in The Cape Cod Chronicle and the Cape Cod Times.
