July 28, 2022
Submitted By: Office of Marketing and Communication
When monarch butterflies were named to the endangered species list in late July, it didn’t come as a surprise to University of Hartford Professor Bin Zhu. As a biologist, he expected this, having seen their numbers declining drastically over the years. He spoke with NBC CT about what this means for the butterflies, as well as the plants and fruits they pollinate, and what people can do at home to protect them. Zhu is a professor of biology and interim department chair in the School of Arts and Sciences. View the interview here.
