Ash Wednesday Mass
The Christian season of Lent, the 40-day period before Easter, begins on Wednesday, Feb. 22 this year.
Mass and distribution of ashes will be held at 1 p.m., in the Catholic Campus Ministry Center Chapel. Father Andy Mai will be our celebrant. All are invited to stay following Mass for a light, meatless lunch.
Ashes will be distributed from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., in GSU 153, and at the Catholic Campus Ministry Center from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m.
As a reminder:
Days of Abstinence: No meat can be eaten on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays during Lent. This applies to all Catholics of age 14 and older.
Days of Fast: Only one full meal is permitted on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday for Catholics between 18 and 59. Two smaller meals are permitted, but the small meals should not equal a second full meal. Drinking coffee, tea, and water between meals is allowed. Snacks between meals are not allowed.
