The Hartford Art School Ceramics program and Dirty for a Reason Clay Club are thrilled to invite you to a workshop with Boston-based artist Paul Briggs on Friday, Feb. 24, from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., in the Krieble Ceramics Center. Briggs currently teaches at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, and over his circuitous life journey has studied and taught education, ceramics, and theology, earning his PhD at the Pennsylvania State University, MFA at the MassArt, and BFA at Alfred University.

Paul’s pinch vessels and slab sculpture investigate making as inner development through meditative practice, and the assessment of traditions that impede equanimity. His work looks to the resilience of black life in America through the coupling of sculpture and poetry. He has exhibited internationally, at venues such as Lucy Lacoste Gallery, The Clay Studio Philadelphia, Mindy Solomon Gallery, Eutectic, ICA MECA, and many more. All are invited to this free artist presentation and demonstration.
