Hillyer Honors Students Visit New Britain Museum of American Art

Hillyer Honors students recently visited the New Britain Museum of American Art as part of their Honors Humanities Seminar called "Stories of Change" with Instructor of English Leslie Johnson.

In the class, students have been studying the ways that artists convey stories of personal transformation and social change through their creative works. At the museum, students learned about a variety of artists such as Titus Kaphar and Radcliffe Bailey; then they each selected a painting for close observation, leading to further research, analysis, and original creative writing in the classroom.
