Submitted By: Suzanne McNeil, Associate Vice President, Division for Student Success

The University of Hartford is pleased to announce that Kenna Grant has been named the new Executive Director, Equal Opportunity Programs and Title IX Compliance. She will be on campus beginning Monday, March 6.

Grant writes “I am most excited to be able to return to the University in this role and create a culture of care regarding EOP/ Title IX compliance; and building and improving systems from an equity lens. Through empowerment and information, I hope to be able to connect with the UHart community about the vital components of our university policies and procedures related to EOP and Title IX. I look forward to working closely with campus stakeholders to support our existing community values, educate via impactful and meaningful training, provide a prompt and informative process, and work hard to create a positive experience for all members of the UHart community.”

For the past year, Grant has served as the Health Programs Manager at the University of Connecticut. We are thrilled that Kenna has returned “home.”

Before leaving UHart in December 2021, Grant spent 20 years serving in various roles within Student Affairs/Division for Student Success, including her most recent role as the Executive Director for Student Health and Well-Being. During her years at the University, Grant received multiple certificates, designations, and honors from various organizations in the areas of sexual assault violence prevention, trauma resilience, holistic life coaching, COVID-19 response, and threat assessment, among others.

In her new role as Executive Director, Equal Opportunity Programs and Title IX Compliance, Grant will serve as the University’s primary equity compliance officer and be responsible for providing leadership, coordination, and oversight of the University’s compliance committee. Grant will also serve as the University’s Title IX Coordinator, maintaining in-depth knowledge of federal and state anti-discrimination and anti-harassment laws and regulations, and related University policies.

Grant will report to the Associate VP for Student Success and work closely with the General Counsel’s Office to ensure a smooth transition of service, training, and compliance for the entire University.

Please join me in welcoming Kenna Grant back to the University of Hartford and congratulating her on this new position.
