UHart Chef to Compete in Culinary Competition

A chef from the Aramark team at the University of Hartford has been selected to compete against fellow creative cooks from across the Northeast in a matchup on March 15. 

Melissa Zarrella hopes to take the cake at the Northeast Regional Finals for the ACE Culinary Competition in Boston. Zarrella and five other chefs from educational institutions across the Northeast will compete in an event designed to exhibit their skills and talents. 

The winning three chefs will go on to represent the Northeast region in the national competition at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park in New York this summer.

“We are extremely proud and excited for Chef Melissa. The ACE is a hallmark of Aramark’s commitment to fueling the hospitality experience and ongoing food focus,” UHart’s dining services said. “Chef Melissa’s vast food knowledge and experience has already propelled her to the Regional Finals, and we are excited to root for her at Nationals!
