Summer Book Read
We are hoping that you will join us for a two-part summer book read co-sponsored by the Amplifying Indigenous Voices Affinity group, University Interdisciplinary Studies, and the Office of Diversity & Community Engagement.
Clan Mother Shoran Waupatukuay Piper of the Golden Hill Paugussett Tribe will be here to discuss her short book, Red Road: Traditional Voice of Afro-Indigenous American. Clan Mother is the voice of her ancestors keeping their visions, hopes, and dreams alive. Her book provides a place for you to learn and understand the true, real, and authentic Afro-Indigenous American and Indigenous American traditional ways.
This is a virtual event that will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 2, and Wednesday, Aug. 9, both from noon – 1 p.m. You can get her book at Barnes & Noble or on Amazon for $15.
Please contact Judy Wyman with any questions at wyman@hartford.edu.
We ask that you register for this event. A Teams link to this event will be sent to all registrants in the near future.
