Come Learn Blackboard Ultra on Sept. 22
A newer, more modern version of Blackboard called Ultra Course View is currently being rolled out at the University of Hartford and the Faculty Center for Learning Development (FCLD) is inviting faculty to a special Ultra training opportunity. On Friday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., FCLD will be holding an Ultra workshop in the Woods Classroom in the Harrison Libraries. Lunch will be provided to participants so pre-registration is required. Interested faculty should register by emailing fcld@hartford.edu.
The implementation of Blackboard Ultra is the result of a two-year LMS review. One of the reasons for electing to move to Blackboard Ultra is that it offers the campus a choice: courses can either be in Blackboard Original View or they can be in Blackboard Ultra Course View. While having two Blackboard interfaces isn’t an ideal option for our students, it means we can do a slow rollout and manage the change better. We anticipate all instructors will be able to choose to convert their courses to Ultra starting in Spring 2024. Then in Spring 2025, all spring courses will be created in the Ultra Course View. Faculty are strongly encouraged to start transitioning their courses before Spring 2025. Ultra workshops will be held throughout the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 terms.
