Mortensen Library Instruction Sessions
The Mortensen Library has a new process to request and schedule library instruction sessions, effective immediately! Fill out the form on our website here or email your request to our new dedicated library instruction email address, infolit@hartford.edu, and include the following information: your preferred date and time, a backup date in case your preferred date is unavailable, details for the research assignment your students will be completing, and anything else that might help us to plan your session.
Once your request is received, your helpful Morty reference librarians will communicate scheduling conflicts, request additional information if necessary, and then arrange and confirm the details with you.
As a reminder, library instruction is most effective when students are already familiar with their upcoming research assignment and know what will be required of them prior to the session. Additionally, they should come prepared with a research topic in mind.
If you have already sent a request for a library session to our general reference email or have contacted a reference librarian directly to schedule, not to worry — a librarian should have been in touch already or will be soon. Please use the scheduling form or new instruction email for any future classes you would like to arrange.
To find the scheduling form on the library website, see our Quick Links list on the Harrison Libraries homepage. Select Instruction, then locate the link to the form, which can be found in the Formal Instruction section on the Mortensen Instruction page. Please reach out to the Mortensen reference librarians with any questions!
