The 2023-24 Richard P. Garmany Chamber Music Series lineup has been announced, as the series celebrates its 15th season. The box office will open for ticket reservations in early October, and an announcement will follow at that time. The exciting performance lineup is as follows:

  • Javier Colon will commence this year’s program with a performance on Thursday, Nov. 16, in Lincoln Theater. Colon is an internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter – and Hartt School alum – who first came to national attention by winning First Prize on NBC’s “The Voice.”

  • The Julliard String Quartet, one of chamber music’s most iconic and beloved ensembles, will perform on Thursday, March 21, in Millard Auditorium.

  • America’s brass super-group, Rhythm & Brass, will perform on Thursday, April 11, in Millard Auditorium. Rhythm & Brass is a sextet featuring some of the country’s foremost players and educators.

  • Rounding out the series will be Melissa White, a New York violist who will perform on Wednesday, May 1, in Millard. White has performed around the world as a recitalist, concerto soloist, and founding member of the Harlem String Quartet. The performance is a co-presentation with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra.

All performances are set for 7:30 p.m.

Since its founding in 2009, The Garmany Chamber Music Series has established itself as one of The Hartt School's signature activities. The series is recognized as one of Connecticut's premier live music attractions, presenting four concerts annually, and is dedicated to bringing the widest possible range of distinguished small ensembles and recitalists to the UHart campus. The series is generously supported by the Richard P. Garmany Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.
