From the Newsroom to the Classroom and Back to the Newsroom

Fox61, a longtime partner of the University of Hartford School of Communication, has hired award-winning journalist and part-time faculty member Dawn Ennis as a newscast producer in its Hartford newsroom.
This comes as Ennis, who was the first journalist in television network news to come out as transgender, marks four decades in journalism this month.
Ennis starts at Fox61 next week, however, she will continue to teach classes in the School of Communication and University Interdisciplinary Studies, manage the UHart Podcast Studio in the Harry Jack Gray Center basement, and pursue her Master's degree at UHart, when she is not writing and producing news at Fox61.
