Hartt Students Perform at The Bushnell with Hartford Symphony Orchestra

Recently, students from The Hartt School collaborated with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra in the event, “Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy.” The innovative program featured the soundtrack of the video game series while honoring its composers and the 35+ year legacy.

The Hartt Choir performed along with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra in the sold out show at The Bushnell, in which HSO’s President and CEO Steve Collins said it was “simply magnificent!” He spoke highly of Hartt’s students and said that the Hartt “choir was truly fabulous,” a testament to the talents of Hartt's students as well as the faculty’s guidance and mentorship.

Before the performance, The Hartt School also welcomed Grammy Award-winning conductor Arnie Roth to rehearse with students at Hartt. Carolina Flores, Hartt’s director of choral activities, was elated at these opportunities and after the show at the Bushnell, she summed it up as “incredible!” Her accolades continued, as she wrote, “Bravi tutti! I am very proud of my students who learned the score in record time and performed it top notch!”
