Leading Historian of U.S. Abortion Debate to Deliver April 9 Lecture

Photo of Mary ZieglerContinuing the recognition of Women’s History Month, the University of Hartford’s Rogow Distinguished Visiting Lecturer Program, in collaboration with the Office for Diversity, Equity, and Community Engagement, will present “An Examination and Implications of the Dobbs Decision” on Tuesday, April 9, at 5:30 p.m. in Wilde Auditorium

Guest Speaker Mary Ziegler, an expert on the law, history, and politics of reproduction, health care, and conservatism in the United States from 1945 to the present, will share her analysis and implications on the June 2022 Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Women’s Health Organization, which ended the constitutional right to abortion in the United States. Ziegler is a 2023 Guggenheim fellow and one of the world’s leading historians of the U.S. abortion debate.
