2024 Senior Regents’ Honor Awards

On Friday, April 5, we held our 63rd Annual Senior Regents’ Honor Awards Banquet to celebrate the academic achievements of some of our most outstanding Seniors. The program was led by Provost Black, with remarks from President Mulready. Academic honor awards were presented to the below students: 

UNIVERSITY INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES AWARD:

This award is bestowed to a student who exhibits intellectual curiosity and motivation in areas outside their major, is able to look at issues through multiple perspectives, and has demonstrated scholarly or creative accomplishments in UIS courses: 

Tyanna Stewart, Major in Health Sciences, Minor in Psychology

PART-TIME BACCALAUREATE AWARD:

This award was established to  honor a baccalaureate recipient studying on a part-time basis while at the University of Hartford with the highest-grade point average  of those eligible:   

Michael Calabrese, BA in university studies with a concentration of Studies in Technology and Administration

ERNEST A. DUDLEY AWARD:

The Ernest A. Dudley Award was established by the Class of 1968 in honor of Dr. Ernest A. Dudley, who was the Director of the University Evening College (now the Office of Graduate & Adult Services) from 1946 to 1969:

Nicole Massai, BA in university studies with a concentration of studies in organizational leadership and management 

ALAN S. WILSON AWARD:

Each year this award is bestowed to a student studying on a part-time basis with an outstanding academic record and who has the highest GPA of those eligible:

SOLOMON ELSNER AWARD:

The Solomon Elsner Award was established in 1962 by the Moses Fox Club in honor of Judge Solomon Elsner, who received an honorary doctorate from the University in 1962.  This award recognizes the outstanding full-time graduating seniors with the highest GPA, a perfect 4.0 over all four years.  

  • Daniel Fiester, accounting major in the Barney School of Business
  • Kayleigh Luke, architectural design and technology major in CETA 
  • Katherine Lukens, early childhood education/Montessori studies major in ENHP 
  • Emily Rutledge, math/secondary education major in the College of Arts & Sciences and a minor in accounting 
HILLYER ASSOCIATE DEGREE AWARDS:

The Hillyer Associate Degree Awards are presented to two full-time students who have a GPA of at least 3.0 and who have completed at least 30 credits in Hillyer College:

  • Jacob Tsekhansky, associate’s degree in liberal arts continuing on to the College of Arts and Sciences
  • Arohi Verma, associate of arts degree continuing on as an integrated elementary and special education major in ENHP
SENIOR REGENTS’ HONOR AWARDS:

Each year we honor two seniors from each college who not only have high grade point averages but who also have demonstrated excellence and accomplishments directly related to their studies in activities such as performances, artistic works, research projects and papers, presentations, publications, designs, independent studies, and more.  The below seniors were selected by a faculty committee in their college:

  • Carly Bonansinga, major in visual communication design in the Hartford Art School
  • Jessica Camarillo, major in mechanical engineering in CETA
  • Nicholas Desrocher, major in marketing in the Barney School of Business
  • Daniel Fiester, major in accounting in the Barney School of Business
  • Tessa Flynn, major in dance performance, minor in performing arts management in The Hartt School
  • Daniel Jimenez Gil, major in civil engineering in CETA
  • Katherine Lukens, early childhood education major with a concentration in Montessori studies in ENHP
  • Helen Newman, major in exercise science in ENHP
  • Emily Rutledge, major in secondary education mathematics in A&S
  • Christina Stone, double major in psychology and philosophy in A&S
  • Carson Timmons, major in music theatre in The Hartt School
