We are proud to announce that Nicole Amoah, a rising sophomore majoring in health science and an undergraduate research student in Gengyun Le-Chan’s laboratory, has been awarded the 2025 Undergraduate Research Experience Grant from the New England Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine (NEACSM).

This competitive grant supports students from teaching-focused institutions in conducting research in the fields of exercise and sport sciences. Nicole’s project was selected for its potential to contribute meaningfully to undergraduate research and student-engaged inquiry. As part of the award, she will present her research findings at a future NEACSM Annual Fall Conference in October 2025.

Gengyun Le-Chan in the Biology Department, who serves as Nicole’s faculty mentor, expressed pride in Nicole’s dedication and growth as a young scholar, “Nicole’s enthusiasm, initiative, and curiosity have been exceptional. It’s been a privilege to support her on this research journey, and I look forward to seeing where her work takes her next.”

Congratulations to Nicole on this outstanding achievement!
