The Division of Student Success invites everyone to join in the Halloween fun this Friday, Oct. 31! We encourage you to dress up, show your Hawk spirit, and help create a welcoming and festive atmosphere across campus.
Students are welcome to wear costumes to class and to stop by participating offices across the Division of Student Success between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Halloween to trick-or-treat and enjoy some candy. Faculty and staff are encouraged to join in the festivities as well!
As you plan your costumes, please remember our shared values of civility, respect, inclusion, and belonging. Choose costumes that reflect those values and avoid anything that appropriates, stereotypes, or mocks another culture, race, religion, or identity. Costumes representing cultural or historical trauma, sacred symbols, or lived experiences can cause harm—even if unintended.
A few reminders:
- Costumes are welcome in class but should not be worn to clinical placements, internships, or lab settings. Please exercise good judgment.
- Costumes should be appropriate for the workplace and respectful of others.
- If your costume includes props or accessories, ensure they do not violate safety policies or create disruptions.
We hope you'll come take part in some campus fun!
